Games of Peace!!!

Wassup peoples!!! Everyone is aware of the recent Hamas and Israel crisis and the way events unfolded. From social media to paper media, it was around, and discussions continued even in our friend circles. People poured in their opinions, defended one against the other. On social media, similar things happened but on a larger scale. People trended hashtags to make the public aware of the ongoing crisis.
However, I am going to use this platform to voice my opinion. Since I am living an ex-pat life myself, I am very aware of the difficulties people like me face. We move to states miles away from our homes to make a living. What our native states do, or their government, in no way depicts our mentality and behavior towards others.
Recently, we had a tournament called 'Game of
Peace.' A softball team from Israel came over to play against us. All the team members were polite and fantastic guys. One of the players was a construction worker by day and a bar owner by night. He was a simple guy trying to make ends meet because, like everyone else, his business also got affected by Covid.
Another player owns a general store at the airport, and he is facing the same crisis. We had some members in our team who avoided participating in the game because of the crisis in Israel. For me, to each their own, but had they joined the team and played that weekend, they would have realized that the Israeli players are ex-pats just like us and have nothing to do with their government or its decisions.
Those players were humble, kind-hearted, polite, laid back, modest, and very cooperative. They just wanted to live in the moment and create some memories. Those guys were so courageous; they had a smile on their face throughout their stay here, regardless of the ongoing crisis back at home. Many of them had families living in the zone, but they were still optimistic.
The tournament was a five-series game that we ended up winning. It is fair to say we all had a good time. The last game was a mixed-team game. That means that both teams mix it up with each other to play a game. Eventually, we all parted ways, with each team handing over their jersey to the other team like the NBA and NFL players do.
After they left, we all realized something. All of us are going through similar issues, although our location is different. It also gives us an important lesson that we should not judge a person for the state they live in. Because they had no role in it, it is pure coincidence.
That could have happened to me and you as well. Just because I am from the US, it does not mean that I can judge everyone who does not live there. We all are humans, living the same mundane lives, carrying out daily tasks, trying to make ends meet, and accomplish our goals. So, it is better if we do not judge a person by the piece of land they live on but by the actions.
So, this is what I think about this whole scenario. Give your opinions in the comment section, and let me know what you think about it all. I would love to hear your thoughts. Have a good day!
